Dijkhuis
Zeeland
2018
An extension to a house along the Oosterschelde in Zeeland.
A timber dormer is slid into the existing brick structure, opening the view to the water. Made with prefabricated elements and assembled on site with precision, it joins old and new as a clear insertion.
Inside, a staircase and furniture were built together with a local furniture maker, to extend the dimensions of craftsmanship to the transformation.
Careful, precise and direct: the project rearranges the spatial logic of the house and connects it more closely to its landscape.
