Klein Zwitserland

Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Ongoing

A pioneering urban development at Strijp-S - Delta, introducing a new housing model, offering approximately 225 rental units, including smaller apartments for individuals or couples, larger units for families, and group-living spaces. A portion of these units, about 60, is a co-development between Trudo with the housing cooperative Klein Zwitserland, providing residents with the opportunity to co-manage their living environment - the first of its kind in Eindhoven.

Situated within the ongoing transformation of Strijp-S, a former industrial area now evolving into a vibrant urban district, the project’s morphology bridges the intimate scale of the adjacent Oud-Strijp neighborhood with that of the iconic multi-level Philips factory buildings across the street

The design emphasizes a balance between private and shared spaces, with generously dimensioned circulation routes and adjacent balconies that encourage chance encounters. Communal facilities, including meeting spaces, rooftop gardens, and courtyards, are interwoven along these routes to foster a co-living community where residents actively participate in shaping their environment.
